Course Numbers, Levels, and General Education Categories

The primary purpose of Bethel’s course number system is to identify the intended participant in each course, its level of content and material, and any necessary course background. Courses are designed primarily for students at the levels indicated below.

100-199 Online Undergraduate (Lower Division - Freshman)
100s Traditional Undergraduate (Freshman)
200s Traditional Undergraduate (Sophomore)
200-299 Online Undergraduate (Lower Division - Sophomore)
300s Traditional Undergraduate (Junior)
300-399 Online Undergraduate (Upper Division - Junior)
400s Traditional Undergraduate (Senior)
400-499 Online Undergraduate (Upper Division - Senior)
500-699 Graduate - Master's level
700s Graduate - Advanced Master's and/or introductory Doctoral level
800-999 Graduate - Doctoral level

The subject code indicates the academic subject being studied. The suffix code indicates the General Education requirement(s), if any, that can be met by completing the course.
